Exclusively Pumping Success
Heather C
I met my goal of breastfeeding at least until a year! I am proud of myself for not giving up, and thankful for the support from PC to help me get through it. My son turns one tomorrow and I am working on gradually weaning off. I switched officially to exclusively pumping at 2.5 months old after a whole bunch of feeding issues. He would constantly pull off and scream at the breast, and I’d have to use the binkie to calm him down enough to latch. It was a fight to get him to eat 10 minutes at a time. Switching to pumping was the right decision for our family and saved both of us lots of stress and tears. Even though he doesn’t feed directly off my breast anymore, he still has the benefits of melatonin and immunity in the milk from our kisses and proximity! I love that I’ve gotten to provide for my son from my own body.

That is awesome, Heather! Any way that babies can get breastmilk is beneficial for them. Pumping is HARD work as I am sure you know-- but I am so proud you were able to stay motivated and put in that hard work to provide your amazing milk for him. He got a strong, healthy start to life because of your dedication!
You rock, Heather! Way to persevere and crush your breastfeeding goals!
