I accidentally left a bottle of milk out for over 12 hours overnight. I don’t feel comfortable giving it to my baby but don’t want to dump it. Is there anything else I can do with it?
Breast milk has soothing and cleaning properties when used on your baby’s skin.
A milk bath is a very common usage for breast milk that can no longer be fed to baby. Start your bath as normal for your baby and add in a few ounces of breast milk to the bath water. This can be gently splashed over both their body and their hair. No need to rinse out! Just pat baby dry when you’ve finished.
If your baby has cradle cap, you can also use your breast milk on your baby’s hair before using the special cradle cap brush.
