The South Dakota Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program is offered free of charge to WIC participants. Pregnant women and moms who choose to breastfeed can receive breastfeeding support from our peer counselors. Peer Counselors are women in the WIC community who have personal breastfeeding experience as well as specialized training in assisting moms with breastfeeding.
