When I was 17 I had breast reduction surgery. Can I still breastfeed?
After breast reduction surgery, breastfeeding is more likely to succeed if the nipples were kept intact and not removed. Also, the more time the breasts have had to heal, the better. If you don’t know the details of your surgery, call the hospital and ask. Work with a lactation consultant ahead of time to learn what is possible for you and be prepared!
